We do thousands of medications on repeat prescription every week.
All repeat prescriptions will be issued by the surgery within 48 hours (excluding weekends and bank holidays) of a request. Most repeat prescriptions now go direct to your pharmacy of choice electronically (rather than a paper prescription) although there are some drugs that still have to be issued on a paper prescription. Pharmacies will require more time to dispense your prescription from the time they receive the prescription due to the process and whether they need to order some of the items into stock. Please discuss with your pharmacy how long they require to process your prescription.
So please put in your repeat prescription request in a timely fashion as it takes time to turn them round.
Prescription requests can be dropped into the prescription box, sent via the post with a self addressed envelope, or by email to
Prescription requests cannot be taken over the telephone.
Any problems please telephone the surgery.
Patients on repeat medication may be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
