Evening and Weekend Appointments Available Now

You can now access additional Primary Care Services in the evenings and at weekends.

Improved Access is a Wiltshire-wide initiative where local practices are working together to offer increased availability of services and appointments in the evenings and the weekend. These appointments are available 18:30-20:00 Monday-Friday, and some Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.   This collaboration  by  practices  will ensure all patients in Wiltshire  have this option, but this might mean you will be offered an appointment at another practice.

Appointment types will vary - some being face-to-face, some on the phone - and there will be a mixture of bookable and same-day appointments available across the week. We will be offering  appointments with GPs as well as with other healthcare professionals, such as a Practice Nurse or Health Care Assistant . We are keen to balance the importance of continuity of care with convenient access for patients, while ensuring that the service is safe.

To book such an appointment, contact your local Surgery during normal opening times. A receptionist will explain the process, and ensure the booking is appropriate. You will need to give consent to use this service.

For more information, please contact your usual GP surgery.

Clinics and Services

Diabetic Clinic

We run regular clinics and it is important you attend the appointment for blood tests prior to your diabetic review in order that the nurse or doctor can make any necessary adjustments to your medication.

Family Planning and Cervical Smear Tests

Our family planning clinics are held every week. If you require a smear test, make an appointment with our practice nurses who will accommodate requests for a convenient time. Ideally, the smear should be taken 14 days after the first day of your period.

Cardiovascular Clinic

These are run each week and an appointment will be sent to you. It is important that the blood test appointments are attended prior to the Cardiovascular clinic as this information is required by the nurse.

Immunisations Clinic

Baby and children immunisation clinics are run every week. They are run on an appointment system. An appointment will be sent to you via the Health Authority. If this is inconvenient, please ring the surgery to re-book the appointment

Community Nurses

The Practice is supported by a team of District Nurses who care for patients in their homes. The surgery can facilitate care that is required in the home by a district nurse.

Community Pharmacist

The Practice is fortunate to have Boots the Chemist on its main premises and Cohens pharmacists at the Wingfield road site. However you can choose to use any chemist in town. Please let us know and we can update your preference.

The Pharmacist is a valuable resource. They are on hand to help with any queries regarding medication or minor ailments.  Please try to make them your first port of call.

Other Services

In addition to the above we are also able to arrange for you to see physiotherapists, chiropodists, midwives, dieticians etc

Non NHS Services

The Practice is pleased to offer a full range of medical services not covered by the NHS such as HGV Medicals, pre employment checks. See the Non-NHS Services page for more information, or ask at the surgery's reception.
